It’s always a joy to reconnect with clients, and my recent family portrait session with the Sherlock family was no exception. Several years have passed since their last session with Kris Kimel Photography, and this time we had the pleasure of capturing their family right in their own beautiful yard in Tallahassee.

The Sherlocks’ yard provided the perfect backdrop for this special occasion. With its lush greenery, tall pines, cheerful hydrangeas and zinnias, and natural light filtering through, it offered the perfect setting for a special family portrait.

I’m so grateful they trusted me once again to capture this chapter of their lives, and I look forward to many more moments with them in the future.

As a photographer in Florida, I have the privilege of capturing special moments for families in breathtaking locations. One of my recent sessions took place at the beautiful Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort in Destin, Florida, where I spent an unforgettable day photographing the Murray-McClelland family.

The photo session was a great way to cap off a lovely long weekend at the resort, where three generations had gathered for golf, beach time, and togetherness.

Nestled along the white sand beaches of Florida’s Emerald Coast, Sandestin is a dream location for family portraits. Its scenic beauty, with soft waves lapping against the shore, pristine sand, and golden sunlight, provided the perfect backdrop for the Murray-McClelland family portraits. Whether by the water’s edge or beneath the pines, every shot was naturally illuminated by the stunning coastal light.

Sunset Magic

As the day transitioned into evening, the sunset over the Gulf of Mexico cast a golden glow that turned the bay into an even more magical setting. We took advantage of this perfect moment, capturing silhouettes against the backdrop of a soft pastel sky.

St. Marks Wildlife Refuge is one of my favorite places on earth. I love spending time there, walking and riding bikes on the trails, bird watching, enjoying nature, and catching amazing sunsets.

So I was so happy when Shana and Clinton, who are new Kris Kimel Photography Baby Plan clients, jumped at my suggestion of shooting their maternity session at the Refuge. On a beautiful sunny day in January, we met at the lighthouse and took our time capturing these gorgeous images. This was my first time meeting Shana and Clinton, and loved getting to know them as we walked the beautiful beach of the Refuge and snapped images of this exciting time in their lives. I can’t wait to meet their little one and am so honored to be chosen to photograph her first year!
